Interpersonal Communication On Mahjong In Village And Its Impact On Traditional Interpersonal Communication

With the development of rural economy,and the leisure time of farmers increased,mahjong leisure activities in countryside developed, and produced a new forms of communication-chatting with each other on the mahjong table.In this paper, author taking a village which is in the north in Hunan as an example,through field research, combing, discusses the rise of rural mahjong process and reasons.Authort consider that, with the reform and opening up,the great development of the rural economy,the great increasement of farmers’leisure time,the attractiveness of mahjong game itself and the absence of other leisure entertainment in village contributed to the popularity of mahjong in rural areas. Author thinks, chatting with each other on the mahjong table in rural areas is a interpersonal communication,and such interpersonal communication has the following four characteristics: formed a new kind of rural informal public space,was an entertainment-based spread,was a group type of interpersonal communication,was a more equal interpersonal communication. Secondly,this article think interpersonal communication in mahjong on the rural changed tradition of interpersonal communication:interpersonal communication in mahjong re-established and replaces the traditional rural informal public space;the entertainment-oriented features of Interpersonal communication in mahjong gradually deconstructs the the rural folk culture in traditional rural interpersonal communication interpersonal communication in mahjong expands the scope of traditional rural interpersonal communication, and makes interpersonal and rural relationships tends to be "rational."...
