The appear of application smart card brings a lot of convenience for human life. But this alse cause a cardholder needs to have more than one card. And the different card providers have different API commands to develop the smart card, this makes a application can not be used in different cards. To overcome these problems, smart cards industry appears a kind of smart card which support for multiple application. In this type of card, Java card is the most popular one. The multi-application card depends on the secure element in the card to provides security runtime environment for the applications in the card. The widespread use of the multi-application card(Java Card) promotes the multi-application management system came along. The GP specification as a major multi-application smart card industry specification, which defines the management commands and management modes of the applications of the smart card. In accordance with GP specification, therefore, the research for the management model and the application lifecycle management has the enormous model signicance in the development of TSM and the Multi-application management system.Multi-application management system, which based on secure element, is a simple TSM platform that link up application provider, card issuer and user. It offers the application lifecycle management service. There are many kinds of multi-application management system exist, but they all have some problems more or less. This thesis studies the management content, the management mode and the management process of the application lifecycle management, and presents a comprehensive multi-application management system, which achieve the application lifecycle management based on three management modes. Compared to other kinds of multi-application management system, our system supports the application extradition management and the application personalization management, and achieves the lifecycle management of the delegated mode and the dual mode. Meanwhile, the system has applied in practical application. Now, it, as the server of an electronic coupon system, offers the application management service for the electronic coupon system. The research of this thesis can be summarized as follows:(1)Describes the related technologies and content about the GP specifications, Java card and TSM, as well as the content of application lifecycle management and the management model.(2)Analysis of the functional requirements of the system, and gives the overall implementation architecture of the system.(3)Study the usage scenarios of simple mode, delegated mode and dual mode. And study the duties of application providers and card issuers and the specific process of the application lifecycle management in each management mode. Finally, design and implementation the management of application loading, installation, and making selectable and deletion under the three modes.(4)Study the usage scenarios of the application extradition, and study the duties of application providers during the application extradition, as well as study the application extradition process under three management modes. Finally, to achieve the application extradition.(5)Study the practical application scenarios of application personalization, as well as two ways which can achieve the personalization and the specific process of the application personalization. Finally, given the design and implementation of two channels which support application personalization.
