The composition of the current wireless communication signal is more complex, it has the characteristics of high bandwidth, low power, high transmission rate, so it is more and more difficult to carry out real-time testing. Based on the traditional PXI bus architecture of real-time spectrum analysis technology can’t meet the broadband with conditions of high amount of data processing needs, Today the traditional parallel bus system has been unable to meet real-time information processing requirements, how to have high throughput data line and high speed data transmission mechanism used in test and measurement field, has important practical significance.This thesis is based on the PXI bus based real time spectrum analyzer, which is based on the PXIe bus, and introduces the design of the real time spectrum analyzer based on the. This thesis is mainly to achieve pxie bus DMA controller design and driver development based on to achieve process mainly includes three parts,respectively is pxie connector hardware circuit design, in the FPGA realization pxie bus protocol and the DMA controller logic circuit design, according to the design of the hardware board is based on the framework of the WDF driver design. Specifically, the hardware circuit design of PXIe hardware specification and transmission protocol are researched, designed with the FPGA Xilinx Kintex 7 160 t model for high speed hardware interface circuit of PXIe main device; logic design, in order to achieve high data transmission, introduced the DMA data transmission mechanism, namely the design and implementation of DMA controller in the FPGA, including the register management and memory management mechanism, the key is to simplify the DMA control logic, construct the logical resources and saving FPGA achieve high efficiency of data transmission, so the DMA control logic are used in the design of data segmentation algorithm, so that the large amount of data transmission provides a more efficient method; driver in the design, analyzed the WDF driver framework and operation mechanism by using the principle of Windows driver, for driving equipment Key technologies such as image, main function and initialization are discussed.After the completion of commissioning of PXIe hardware interface board, the board is inserted in Ni company PXIe host computer, then install the PXIe card driver,online debugging and verification using Xilinx ISE14.7 integrated developmentplatform chipscope software of pxie protocol interface and DMA controller of each logic module. Final test results show that PC launched DMA read rate reached 5.78Gb/s,DMA write rate for 13.3Gb/s, and driving program can stabilize the running under the Windows XP system, fully meet the bandwidth requirements of real-time spectrum analyzer system.
