Nowadays, automatic control system plays an irreplaceable role in all fields of daily life. The level of automation technology represents the national science and technology level and comprehensive national power. With the expansion of automatic control technology applications, traditional control system solution based on PLC and DCS exposes many defects, such as complex structure, high difficulty to design, high cost. For the small and medium scale application with less demand of IOs, require core control module and control system implementation technology which are more integrated, easier to use, and more affordable. The control module on chip, composed by control chip, firmware, user program and PC software, and achieves input and output, control computation, industrial communication, and system configuration in a single module, can effectively reduce the design difficulty and implementation cost of control systems.This thesis discusses the design and implementation of system firmware based on control chip, which implement the functional requirements of control module integrating input and output, control operation, industrial communication, and system configuration. To achieve this goal, this thesis do the following research:1), to solve the problem of interactive communication in PC software and on-chip control module, designs the intercommunication protocol, and implements the communication module and system service interface; 2), in view of control modules can be flexibly applied to different occasions demand, proposes the design method of hardware operating parameters configurable; 3), for control module configurable requirement, designs system configuration services, storage structure, and the process of program check and loading; 4), through researching of the common scheduling algorithm, designs and implements the scheduling algorithm; 5), for some control computation via hardware with some defects such as design complexity, high resource cost, and poor scalability in implementing, proposes the design method of implementing part of the control computation on firmware; 6), to complete the on-chip control IO management, implements on-chip control IO management module; 7), according to the requirements of user program accessing device communication bus, proposes the scheme of device communication opening, and then applies it in the development and application of Modbus; 8), for control module online upgrade requirement, designs file download service and the methods of program file storage and working; 9), builds a verification platform, and then tests and validates of the system functions.This thesis firstly introduces the system architecture, then describes the design and implementation of system firmware core modules, and builds a verification environment for testing and validation of the system functions. Finally, test results show that the system meet the application requirements and achieve the desired design goals.
