The Investigation Of Children’s Information Service In Kunming Public Libraries

Recent years, the information service of the public library has been developed and promoted greatly with the improvement of the modern computer technology. However, the main service object of the public library information service are adults at present. Education and healthy growth of nation’s promising children should be paid more attention by parents and even society. Based on the popularity of the network, the public library need to follow the needs of children, deepen the content of the public library children services and promote the diversification of information services for children.Based on the previous literature research, we discovered that there are few studies about public children library information service research in library and information circles, especially the public library children information service system. The author choose the southwest Kunming City "Spring City"as the scope of the study, then study the public library in Kunming city and analyze the achievements and shortcomings of public library children information service of Kunming City. Finally, the author provide corresponding comments and suggestions to improve the public library children information service of Kunming City.Part 1 (Introduction):Firstly, this part introduce the background and significance of this study and express the necessity for Kunming City public library children information service; secondly, we set the study object in the article, the research object of this paper is mainly children, parents/researchers, librarians and managers according to the questionnaire. Then, this paper introduces the research ideas, research methods and innovative points. Finally, this paper analyze and define the relates concept of this paper.Part 2:Firstly, reviewed analysis of the literature at home and abroad show that the public library children information service research reflected in the children library and information service, however the studies about public library children information service are relatively rare, let alone the public library children information service in undeveloped area. Secondly, we try to provide better design studies for Kunming City public library children information services research through the study of the flow diagram and the design of scientific research.Part 3:this part introduces the research hypothesis, and analyzes the differences among aspects of gender, age and education, also analyzes the cognition differences towards public library information service of Kunming children and parents.Part 4:the paper introduced the achievements of Kunming City public library children information service from premises construction, literature resources construction and information services, information retrieval service, information dissemination transfer with the seven aspects of the exchange services, information and intermediary services, information security services and information consulting services. At the same time, this paper elaborated the problems existed in Kunming City public library children information service in three aspects by combining with survey data analysis:1, in-perfected content of children information service; 2, lack of specific business for public library children information services; 3, low software and hardware of conditions children information servicePart 5:To promote Kunming City public library children information service provided to the improvement and perfection, we put forward corresponding countermeasures about three aspects(hardware and software conditions of children information service children information service form, children information service content,)in view of the Kunming City public library children information service problems.In order to less developed areas of public library children information service provides a good reference, we study problems existing in Kunming City public library children information service, and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures in this paper taking Kunming City as the representative.
