Recently, the application of Bluetooth technology in wearable devices makes the rapid development of wearable devices. However, wearable devices can only work for short time.which makes them can’t meet the needs of long-term monitoring, since Bluetooth communication power consumption accounted for more than half of the total power of wearable devices.To reduce the power consumption of Bluetooth in wearable devices is a hot research issue.In this paper, a power control algorithm based on Bluetooth RSSI is presented. Firstly, the theoretical basis model of power control technology is introduced. Secondly, the moving average method is used to preprocess the RSSI value. Thirdly, the influence of movement and environmental factor on RSSI is analysed, and a method of determining the stability of the device by RSSI is proposed. Finally, the priceple of RSSI threshold setting is proposed, and the power control algorithm is implemented.The algorithm is implemented on the self-made ECG monitoring device, and the result shows it achieves a good communication power optimization. Three experiments are carried on different situations (rest, walking and mixed scenarios) and the communication power consumption is optimized to 71.63%,74.35%and 76.04%.
