The Design And Implementation Of Object Carousel Generator In Digital Video Broadcasting Networks

With the rise of Internet technology, the information and resources can be broadcast and shared much faster and more widely than the old times. And the Digital TV has become one of the most important ways to broadcast the information all around the world, which can transmitting the different categories of data such as audios, videos, images or even the various files.Meanwhile, under the circumstance that the Digital TV are developing and growing more and more popular, the ways to transform or deal with the data that is being transmitted in the broadcast has always been a hot to pic for many TV companies and official committees in many places.In this thesis paper, I will illustrate a deep research about one of the important approaches which is called Object Carousel(OC) that has been used in the transportation of the data in the MPEG-2 Transport Stream during the broadcast in the DVB networks, on the basis of the combination of the theories from Software Engineering and the official specifications, such as the MPEG-2 standards and DSM-CC specifications. The Object Carousel(OC) is on top of the Data Carousel(DC) model which extends the concepts to add the objects about file objects, directory objects and stream objects during the data encapsulation and transmission in the DVB broadcast. To be simple, in the thesis, the system designed and implemented will be used to broadcast a file system structure from the Server to the Client terminals which usually are Set Top Boxes or some other TV sets.However, besides the introduction and analysis of the detailed design and implementation of the Object Carousel Generator(OCG) system in the paper, the thesis also focuses on the theory research about the flexible and fine Module Control Strategy of the system and the new design of the encapsulation of the message data inside the Object Carousel(OC) combining the MVC framework, Object-Oriented theory and DVB specifications together. And in some other aspects, the thesis will also evaluate the functionality, theoretical module control and performance issues by means of the evaluation methods and discuss the further meaningful influence for the company and future improvement space of the system.
