License plate detection technology is an important part of ITS、Smart city,commonly used in Barrier System、 traffic monitoring system、 parking system,etc.It has great significance for protecting the safety of pedestrians and improving traffic management order.For improving system flexibility and promoting system application scenarios, this article designed an embedded license plate detection system based on DM365 from the aspects of software、 hardware design and function algorithm.Details are as follows:Firstly,according to the design target and user requirements,completed the selection of processor,and determined the overall system design.To deal with hardware system function demand and technological innovation,completed schematic design,including memory module、 video module、 communication module and power module;achieved 8 layers、 high-speed, high-density, high-performance PCB based on the rules of layout and wiring;and in order to satisfy the board-level signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility,the thesis completed rational design of power split and anti-interference.Then,to deal with the functional requirements of the system,completed software and hardware testing in two environments,and written 7 kinds of peripheral device drivers in Linux system;other,realized a set of software design,including SD video capture、 H.264 encoding、 video storage solutions,etc;and implemented remote video monitoring function through communication protocol design, Streaming video packet design、 RTSP server design, VLC client design,etc.Finally,implemented embedded license plate detection scheme, using the algorithms of Haar feature extraction, cascade classifier, pyramid-layered searching、 target polymerization and so on,and optimized the algorithms through downsampling、 floating-point and fixed-point conversion, software pipelining,then improved the efficiency of the embedded license plate detection greatly, so that the system meets the needs of practical application.
