Sequence design plays a key role in the field of wireless communications. The conventional sequence design mainly focused on the design of sequences and sequence sets with good correlation and they are suffered from the limitation of number. The theory of sequence pairs and sequence pair sets extends the existence space of the signals. The aperiodic zero correlation zone(ZCZ) complementary sequence pair sets are significant for reducing multi-access interference and multipath interference. This paper mainly studies the construction methods of the aperiodic binary, ternary and quaternary ZCZ complementary sequence pair sets.First of all, this paper puts forward three construction methods of the orthogonal matrix pairs. They are constructed as follows: based on the signature sequences of the difference set pairs and the ideal binary sequence pairs with two-level; based on the perfect binary sequence pairs with two-level; based on the property of the orthogonal matrix pairs. The order of the orthogonal matrix pairs is decided by the sequence pairs chosen. The orthogonal matrix pairs are the foundation of the aperiodic ZCZ complementary sequence pair sets showed below.Secondly, the aperiodic binary and quaternary ZCZ complementary sequence pair sets are constructed respectively based on orthogonal matrix pairs. And the binary sequence pair sets can be obtained by interleaving the orthogonal matrix pairs and the orthogonal matrix. The perfect binary sequence pair sets can be constructed from the appropriate parameters setting. The quaternary sequence pair sets can be obtained by interleaving the quaternary orthogonal sequence pair sets and the orthogonal matrix, which are perfect. In addition two methods of mapping for the quaternary orthogonal sequence pair sets are given.Thirdly, the aperiodic ternary ZCZ complementary sequence pair sets are constructed based on orthogonal matrix pairs. One method is as below: interleaving the row cyclic shift of orthogonal matrix pairs with the other orthogonal matrix pairs, and then filling them with zeros, at last iterating them. The complete complementary sequence pair sets can be obtained if the orthogonal matrix pairs are appropriate. The other method is as the same way just by interleaving the row cyclic shift of orthogonal matrix pairs with orthogonal matrix. The complete complementary sequence pair sets can be obtained if the orthogonal matrix is appropriate.
