With the continuous development of the Internet of things technology, meter reading is on the way to intelligent. At present, the meter reading methods are mainly divided into wired meter reading and wireless meter reading. Because wired meter reading system has the shortcomings of the high cost in pre wiring and the difficulties in latter maintain and so on, this paper uses wireless communication between the household meter data transmission process which focuses on the low power wake up. At the same time, in order to ensure the safety of the data, such as the meter reading instruction, the charge amount and the user information, the encryption algorithm is put forward to add the data transmission process. The main research contents are as follows: 1. In order to realize the low power wake-up process, first of all, according to the timing of command transmission between meter and concentrator, propose the low-power slot allocation algorithm based on TDMA, and analyze the wake-up process in three ways: without the address, the address with the reply and the address with no reply. According to the optimization of the content of the wake instruction, the auto correlation method based on pseudo random sequence is proposed. The algorithm does not need to allocate the instruction time slot, can intercept the information from any position to judge whether or not to wake up, and the success rate is high. Compared with the wake-up consumption in different methods, the research shows that there is an intersection point between the wake-up method with the address and the reply and the auto correlation wake-up method, and the same time they are lower than that without the address and the address without reply. 2. After waking up, the meter enters the data transmission part. The security of the meter reading process is enhanced through the transmission of the encrypted data. In the background of wireless communication, the symmetric encryption algorithms 3DES and AES with the simple encryption algorithm and small memory are chosen. At the same time, according to the evaluation of the encryption algorithm in the meter reading system, the key space, linear complexity degree, information entropy and equilibrium of performance indicators are purposed for comparison, from the two aspects of the key and the ciphertext sequence judgment to select encryption algorithm. Results show that AES has higher encryption security, and it is more suitable for wireless data transmission than 3DES.Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that, considering the success rate and power consumption, the auto correlation method can effectively reduce the total energy consumption of the wireless wake-up system. In data security transmission, adding the data encryption algorithm AES, can effectively guarantee the security of wireless data transmission process.
