Effective information technology service supervision is critical to thesuccess of many companies. Release Management is the process of planning,building, testing and deploying hardware and software. Its purpose is toensure that a consistent method of deployment is followed. It reduces thelikelihood of incidents as a result of rollouts and ensures that only tested andaccepted versions of hardware and software are installed at any time.There are many IT industry standards available, but which ones are trulyvaluable to L company? This dissertation examined the fundamental processof quality control guidelines, operational methods, and effective techniques,and their applicability in China and overseas.The research conducted a case study in L company, specialized inrelease management implementation. It reviewed the objectives inpre-implementation and post-implementation needs, and then united the process improvement theories and best practices together, aligning LCompany’s business with modern technology.The dissertation concluded research findings and significant futureoutlook. The author sincerely believed that the research achievement willprovide guidance for implementing release management to companies thatsimilar to L company. |
