Research Of China’s Agricultural Catastrophe Insurance Based On Trigger Compensation Mechanism

China is a large agricultural country. In recent years, the agricultural catastrophescaused huge loss to China’s agricultural production and affected the social stabilitymore or less. Agricultural catastrophe insurance is an important way to spread the risk.And catastrophe insurance is one of the new topics talked by the insurance industry ofall over the world now. The agricultural catastrophe insurance is an essential part ofour catastrophe insurance system. While in our country, the study of agriculturalcatastrophe insurance is not enough. So there is a long way to build and perfect ourcountry’s agricultural catastrophe insurance system.Based on existing research, policy-oriented agricultural catastrophe insurance model,as the new mode of China’s agricultural catastrophe insurance, is put forward in thispaper. On the selection of specific product, triggering compensation system ofinsurance products is more suitable for the development of the agriculturalcatastrophe insurance in our country. On the selection of specific model, it is better todesign our country’s agricultural catastrophe insurance model according to someaspects: one is the economic, political and social development of our country; theother is the underwriting capacity, products and catastrophe insurance riskmanagement level of agricultural insurance company and so on. The participants ofthis model are the central government, local government, farmers, agriculturalcatastrophe insurance companies, agricultural catastrophe reinsurance companies andother forms of insurance companies at home and abroad, etc.
