Research On The Backward Integration Strategy Mode For SF-Express

Taking the integration theory as the entry point, this paper is intended to explorethe application of backward integration strategy in logistics enterprises in our country.With SF-Express (group) Limited Company (SF-Express for short) as the study objectalong with the research methods such as documentation method, interview andinvestigation method, comparative research method and so on, this paper conductsanalysis and carries out comparisons in terms of the current external and internalconditions of SF-Express, the competitive landscapes faced by domestic logisticsenterprises, the current status, competitive edge and disadvantages as well asopportunities and challenges of SF-Express. Moreover, with combination of thecompetitive advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and challenges, it willfurther make evaluation on the backward integration strategy concluded from theresearch, then points out both the benefits and the negative effects that might bebrought by SF-Express if adopting this strategy. In addition, through pointing out theissues existed in the attempt to implement backward integration strategy, it willconduct further analysis on the causes and draw the final conclusion to positivelyadopt this strategy. At last, by reflecting on the potential benefits and disadvantagesbrought about by this strategy based on consideration of the current situation, thispaper will put forward the focus, matching strategy as well as safeguard methods forSF-Express to fully implement backward integration strategy.There are six parts in this paper in total. First part is introduction, which is theoverall statement in terms of background and significance of the research, researchobject and approach, research plan and frame. Second part is theoretical review,which is mainly concerned with the related theoretical review, enterprisesmanagement strategies, strategic management tools, integration strategy theories,advantages and disadvantages of backward integration strategy and other backgrounds.The third part is the environment research for development strategies of SF-Express.With PEST analysis method, it is aimed at mastering the external conditions ofintegration strategy of SF-Express through a comprehensive comparison of itspolitical, economic, technical and social circumstances. By means of utilizingFive-force Model, it will further carry out analysis on the developing environmentsand competition environments of logistics industry, in order to grasp a clear picture ofthe industrial features and industrial developing phase for the implementation ofSF-Express’ integration strategy, which will ensure to accurately locate itself. Onbasis of above, with IFE, EFE and SWOT matrix, it will conduct comprehensiveanalysis and assessments for SF-Express in terms of its opportunities, threats,advantages, disadvantages and so on. The fourth part is the analytical research onintegration strategy pattern of SF-Express. Majorly focused on summary of theintegration strategy patterns attempted by SF-Express together with comparison withother express enterprises, this part is intended to dig out the existing issues and shortages and make detailed analysis with the intention to further explore the potentialopportunities and challenges. The fifth part is about the implementation and safeguardresearch on SF-Express development strategy. It’s intended to innovatively raise thefocus, the matching strategy and safeguard measures in implementing backwardintegration strategy for SF-Express, in order to improve the operability of integrationresearch. The sixth part is the conclusion, which draws the conclusion and makesobjective comments for the shortages as well as the future outlook, providing thedirection and issues to be improved and investigated going forward.
