The Applied Research Of Follow-Up Audit For Government-Funded Projects

In recent years, government investment has intensified. To avoid the seriousresource waste and poor economic benefits of such projects, higher requirements areput forward in improving government management ability and increasing economicefficiency. Audit of government investment projects is not only an important means ofmeasuring the government investment benefit, but also the important function ofnational audit supervision system. With the continuous development of society, thegovernment attaches particular importance to the audit of government investmentprojects. Audit institutions at various levels have certainly done a lot on the auditwork and a series of problems were identified during the audit process. However,traditional audit approach namely ex-post audit are still used during the audit of theproject, which can’t take the comprehensive audit for the whole project construction.Follow-up audit emerged to meet the needs and requirements of modern audit.Follow-up audit cites more reasonable and scientific method in project audit, andmakes the entire audit process more scientific and efficient with distinctive featuresand advantages.This thesis, in combination with the actual work of project audit, aims atresolving the issues involved in follow-up audit, to further explore auditing theory andrelevant methods about government investment projects. Take a depth study of theproblems faced by follow-up audit, improve government’s ability to manage theproject, enhance the utilization of public resources, and increase the economicbenefits of government management projects. Combined with theoretical analysis onthe existing problems of audit risk and closely related practice, follow-up auditapproach will be applied to project management with a solid comprehensivetheoretical analysis. All aspects of project implementation are analyzed, effectivelyincreasing government investment operational capability, and making the theoreticalresearch on audit more systematic, professional and practical.
