Since the1980s,there are more and more people pay attention toenviromental issues.Many governments and Enterprises are beginning toconcern about the effective use of resources.The efficient use of resources hasbecome an important influence factor in social and economic development.Asan effective means of utilization of resources,"Energy Saving and EmissionReduction"(ESER) leads to more attention from goverments of theworld.Supply chains are the main bodies of global market.It is an importantissue how to ensure and enhance the efficiencies of supply chains at thesame of reducing the damage to the natural environment and achievingeffcient use of resources by ESER." Energy Saving and Emission Reduction ofSupply Chain"(ESER-SC)is based on these situations.This paper firstly describes the study background and significance of theESER-SC,and summes up the research situation on this field at home andabroad.Then,the authour describes the innovation of this paper and the maincontents of each chapter.Secondly,the paper introduces the basic theories ofthere espects:connotion of supply chains,performance evaluation of supplychain and ESER.Based on the former study,the author firstly defines the "Enterprise Energy Saving and Emission Reduction of SupplyChain"(ESER-SC),then uses “primary, filter, determine” three steps to build aindex system of ESER-SC,including31indicators.Finally,the paper explainsthe meaning of each indicator in detail, and gives the correspondingmeasurement formula.The other feature of this paper is research on ESER-SC based on BPneural network. The paper analyses the integration feasibility of BP neuralnetwork and ESER-SC.Then, after elaborating the baisc principles of BPneural network,the author Proposes an improved BP algorithm,and uses it tosimiulate and imitate abilities of ESER-SC,which supplies an operationalevaluation method of ESER-SC. The paper firstly proposes Energy Saving and Emission Reduction ofSupply Chain,which may be a new way to save energy and reduce smission.The index system and evaluation method of this paper could evaluate thecapability of ESER of a supply chain.what’s more important,the model can bepredicted the level of the capability of ESER of a supply chain to someextent,which could promote the supply chain takes timely measures to achievethe target of ESER.
