Nowadays, Private Banking business is developing rapidly in China. Asthe most important competitive force of private banking, private bankerscannot meet the demands of the customers.According to the competence model theory, this thesis analyzes thesituation and challenge to the XY Bank, while explain the importance ofbuilding up the competence model. The author chooses the suitable methodto compose the competence dictionary and try to build up the competencemodel for private bankers of XY Bank. In the end, the author will introducethe usage of competence model in XY Bank human resource management.Since XY Bank private banking department was established in recentyears and has limited data, this thesis adopts deductive method but notinductive method to construct the competency model, selects competencefrom demands of private banking clients, sets up the experts group whichconsists of private bankers, other staff of private banking, human resourcesexperts, private banking customers, external experts to evaluate thecompetence. Through analyzing, calculating and sorting, the thesis constructs the professional knowledge competence model and general capabilitycompetence model. The author expects this competence model can providecertain reference to the related human resources management of privatebankers of XY Bank.
