Research On The Competitiveness Of Modern Service Industry In Jiangxi Province

The development of modern service industry is an important sign of natio nal or regional economic, which reflects the level of a country’s economic mod ernization. Jiangxi province, which is in China Central area, is one of the poor est provinces in China. However, in recent years, the development of modern s ervice industry has made great contribution to the rapid development of Industr y and agriculture in Jiangxi province. At the same time, there are many troubl es in the modern service in Jiangxi. Firstly, the modern services industry scale of Jiangxi Province is not large. Secondly, the competitiveness of the modern services industry is not strong. Thirdly, the structure of the modern services i ndustry is not reasonable. Finally, the development of the modern services in J iangxi Province is not balance. Because of the above characteristics of modern service industry in Jiangxi province, the development problems of modern ser vice industry in Jiangxi province is Representative. Many provinces, which are in Chinese less-developed areas, are faced with the same development problems.Based on the current development of modern service industry in Jiangxi p rovince, the competitiveness of modern service industry is made up of three ki nds of the competitiveness, the core competitiveness, the basic competitiveness and the environmental competitiveness by drawing on previous theory. And aft er that we determine the competitiveness evaluation index system for the comp etitiveness of modern service industry in Jiangxi Province. Firstly, by using the multivariate statistical factor-analysis method we can calculate the scores of th e core competitiveness, the basic competitiveness and the environmental compet itiveness of 31 provinces in the whole country. We find three conclusions:①Th e score of the core competitiveness of modern service industry in Jiangxi Provi nce is lower than the national average score, which is ranked 24 th across the c ountry. ②The score of the basic competitiveness of modern service industry in Jiangxi Province is lower than the national average score, which is ranked 26 t h across the country. ③The score of the basic competitiveness of modern servi ce industry in Jiangxi Province is lower than the national average score, which is ranked 23 th across the country. Secondly, we can find the main factors that will have an impact on the scores of the core competitiveness, basic competitiveness and environment competitiveness of the modern services industry in Jia ngxi Province. We can compare the competitiveness of the modern services ind ustry based on the results of 31 provinces. By this way, we can find the adva ntages and the disadvantages of the modern services industry in Jiangxi Provin ce.By using the multivariate statistical factor-analysis method, we can also c alculate the scores of the core competitiveness, the basic competitiveness and t he environment competitiveness of the modern services industry in the 11 prefe cture-level cities in Jiangxi province. Firstly, from the results we can identify t he major factors that will affect the competitiveness of the modern services ind ustry in the 11 prefecture-level cities. Secondly, to compare the scores of mod ern service industry in the 11 prefecture-level cities, we can find three conclusi ons:① The strengths and the gaps of the competitiveness of the modern servic es industry in the 11 prefecture-level cities in Jiangxi province. ②The competit iveness of the modern services industry in Nanchang and Xinyu is stronger.③We know the ranking of the scores of the competitiveness of the modern servi ces industry in the 11 cities. Above all, in order to enhance the competitivenes s of modern service industry in Jiangxi Province, my study will provide some objective advices for the development of modern service industry in Jiangxi province.
