After 90 years, the retail business of commercial banks Western countries becoming the fastest growing sector.Economic globalization and integration to promote the rapid development of the world economy, the concept of the global village has been widely recognized. This has prompted commercial banks to their traditional business of reconstituting, commercial banks will move on to the retail business, gradually, the retail business has become the main profit source of many commercial banks.Domestically, since reform and opening, China’s household wealth has continued to grow, increasing residents’ demands for savings, investment, which makes retail business in the structure of great changes have taken place. Therefore, in order to maximize profits for the enterprise as the purpose of commercial banks have to seize this huge space for development, sustainable, profit distribution thick market, intense competition, in turn, forcing commercial banks to change and innovation, and promote the rapid retail business development of. For this reason, I will examine Shanghai pudong development bank retail business development strategy as my thesis topic.This paper attempts to analyze the study of Chinese and foreign retail banking, which explore the current situation and the Shanghai Pudong Development Bank retail business development issues and development strategies exist.
