In the course of development, many state-owned military industry institutes have set up mixed-ownership subsidiaries. Through operating subsidiaries, they successfully solved the problem of the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, as well as set up a new revenue model for scientific research institutes. Moreover, the scientific research talent team with management experience could be built and cultivated. On one hand, these subsidiaries were closely linked with parent firm by business connections. On the other hand, subsidiaries were trying to transform themselves from a closed and semi-closed planned economic institution into an open socialist market. Therefore, mixed-ownership reform could be a better solution.XX institute, which was studied in this paper, was founded by the merger of an industrial company and five research institutes, four of them were full allocation public institutions. This merged institute have invested and set up more than 10 subsidiaries. Non-public capital was introduced into some of the subsidiaries. XX institute made a mixed ownership promoting plan for the next couple years. The proportion of non-public capital in the relevant subsidiary equity would be increased.Equity structure and equity management mode will directly affect the mode of corporate governance. Hence, the mixed ownership reform in XX institute has a long way to go. It is an important method to improve the management and executive ability of these subsidiaries by efficient state-owned stockholder’s rights organization. It is also important for promoting integer administrant level of these state-owned military industry institutes.The paper theoretically summarized the management of XX Institute state-owned equity, based on problems existing in mixed-ownership subsidiaries. The paper combined theory with practice, and showed better organization ideas and specific measures for improving state-owned stockholder’s rights management, which has a certain practical value.This paper creatively put forward the suitable method to optimize equity management for XX institute. Three aspects were separately studied, which are the optimization process, the value management of state-owned equity and risk control of stock management. It offered some view points for improving the state-owned equity management work in XX institute, which could improve the control ability of subsidiary company.
