| With the speeding up of economic globalization, high-tech enterprises which have important strategic significance to the national economy are facing increasingly fierce market competition. If they want to survive and develop, they must improve abilities of technology innovation to enhance the core competitiveness. Only through constant technological innovation, market-oriented products and technologies can occupy markets and ensure enterprises’profits to realize sustainable development. At present, high-tech enterprises become the main force of economic development and industrial upgrading in yantai. High-tech enterprises are based on theirs own resources, constantly improve their technological innovation ability and develop huge potential businesses. At the same time, the high-tech enterprises as innovative practice guidance and training objects, the study of technological innovation mode selection has great significance. Therefore, based on previous studies, use qualitative and quantitative methods, combine with field investigation, analyze high-tech enterprises technology innovation ability, research how to choose the correct models of technological innovation. Select one enterprise as the case analysis and discussion, on the one hand, it is used to verify the conclusion of this paper, on the other hand, it is used to provide a method of the sustainable development for yantai high-tech enterprises. The conclusions as follows:(1) Based on the existing research, summarize the reviews of the high-tech enterprises, technological innovations, technological innovation modes and the correlative theories, summarized the general technology innovation modes in yantai city.(2) Through the survey we can found that there are 3 mainly modes as the imitation innovation, cooperative innovation and independent innovation.(3) Based on the Internal factors of innovation index, External environment factors of innovation index, with the introduction of enterprise Life cycle theory, then we can construct "IEL" space choose model for qualitative analysis.
