Food safety problems have been focus on by our country people as these issues endanger the health of citizens. Due to historical and economic reasons, our government still lack in food safety,Government regulatory functions hasn’t been effectively implementedThis article through the present situation of China’s food safety, food safety standards, the role of go vernment in the food safety in China and foreign countries, combined with China’s conditions, give my own advises.In this article, thro ugh the analysis of the government functions in the field of food safety in our country, gradually contrast foreign legal system, the functions of the government information, find out the main causes of China’s food safety supervision : Power and responsib ility is not clear, the legal system is not sound, lack of professional talents and equipment.1、Review and improve existing laws and regulations.By deep study and analysis of domestic and international laws and regulations, compare the relevant food laws and regulations on food production and circulation, find out our problems in the laws and regulations on the execution, clear the legal standard, At the same time, relevant legislation must refer to national recommendations2、Revise the food safety standards and regulations timelyThe national food safety standard, should revise with testing st andards and industry standards, solving some problems such as loopholes and defects that existing in the legislative process, strengthen the legal effect. In view o f the existing laws and regulations, according to the actual situation gradually improve supporting the implementation of the regulations and rules, timely revise or formulate relevant laws and regulations standard when appear new technology, products, or develop new health hazards。3、Increase the punishment standard, increase the cost of finesPenalties for food safety in our country is relatively small, for the vast majority of offenders, the expected profit is much higher than the penalty amount。Therefore, increasing punishment scope and strength, let wrongdoers realize needed for producing and selling toxic food cost is much higher than its benefits, then they will stop.Increase the penalties mentioned here that means using the coercive power of judi cial organs, whatever the circumstances are serious or not, severely punished according to law to the Units and individuals producing poisonous food.Finally give the advice. In the scientific division of food safety regulatory responsibilities and establish a food safety risk management system.
