With the development of the personal financial services of commercial banks, all the banks play all their cards to sell financial products to consumers. During this process, various forms of violations of consumer’s rights and interests have occurred. As the basic right for other rights of consumers, the right to know on financial products in our country has not yet guaranteed. Therefore, this thesis will study it and explore the feasible approaches for its legal protection.There is four chapters with exception of introduction and conclusion.The chapter one defines the issues to be studied. Firstly, based on the classification of the financial products of commercial banks, the author will study the legal relationships between commercial bank and consumers among different types of financial products. Then put the consumers of financial products under the background of the financial consumer to do the further study, and analyze the concept and scope of financial consumer and identify the difference between consumers of bank’s financial products and other financial consumers. Finally, based on the research of the above classification on financial products, the author try to propose the standards of the consumer’s right to know on different financial products. The innovation of this chapter is classification analysis of banks’ financial products, and thus set stand of right to know in classification.The chapter two will study the basic theory about the protection of consumers on financial products. By the analysis of economic theories like information asymmetry theory, efficient capital market hypothesis, conflicts of interest and legal theory like the principle of good faith, justice and value, the author will conduct deep study on the necessity of protection about consumer’s right to know on financial products. The innovation of this chapter is comprehensive analysis of consumer’s right to know under the background of both economics and law.The chapter three will incorporate the protection of consumers of financial products into the framework of the protection of financial consumer, and by analyzing the relevant laws on the protection of financial consumer in other countries, we can understand the advanced system on financial consumer protection in other countries and take it as a good reflection and reference to our own consumer protection of financial products simultaneously.The chapter four is the focus of this thesis. In this chapter, the author firstly make a basic description about the bank’s financial products, and then based on the combination with chapter three, the author try to build the perfect protection mode of consumer’s right to know on bank’s financial products from the perspective of information disclosure, regulatory pattern, litigation security, non-litigation settlement mechanism, etc. The innovation of chapter three and chapter four is making connection between legal protection of financial consumers abroad and practice in China, and set up protection framework in accordance with the circumstances of our country.
