The productivity reflects the degree of development of a country at the macro level. And at the micro level, it reflects the efficiency of an enterprise. With the emergence of the theory of heterogeneous enterprise and the advancement of micro-level measurement, research on productivity shift from the macro level to the micro level gradually in recent years.Productivity dispersion reflects the distribution structure of the high efficiency enterprise and low efficiency enterprise, the competition degree and the efficiency of resources allocation. The research about dispersion is of significance in industry development level judging and industry upgrade policy making. We use the labor productivity, LP method and OP method to estimate the enterprise productivity in 1998-2007 and use the 90-10 percentile ratio to measure the productivity dispersion. We compare our result with the Japanese industry data.We find that China’s dispersion is higher than Japan. In addition, we do the empirical research about the influence factors of the productivity dispersion. And the impacts of industry concentration, the SOE intensive and the industry openness are significant. Meanwhile the impact of the new technology launch is not significant.
