Soybean is an important source of nutrition structure to our human being. In 1996, China became a net importer of soybean from a net exporter, in order to meet the soybean demand of our country, we need to import from then. China imported 71.4 million tons of soybeans in 2014 which accounted for more than 60% of the total of the world, but our country have no pricing power in the international trade, soybean import prices are controlled by other countries, our country have no choice but to accept. Our loss of soybean import pricing power has become the consensus of the theoretical circle.Firstly this paper summarizes the research achievements of scholars at home and abroad about pricing power, and reviews excellent research literatures about soybean pricing power in China. Then detailed our country’s participating in the international pricing, we find out that the the international price of soybean is outcome of many reasons. The author then pointed out China’s soybean import pricing mechanism on the basis of previous studies on of the thesis. Starting from the present supply and demand situation, we analysis the current status of soybean planting in the world, then we analysis the source of China’s soybean imports from various countries and their separate amounts. Through the Grainger causality test between CBOT soybean futures contracts prices and our country’s soybean import prices, we pointed out that our country have less pricing power in international trade than we should have, then we listed reasons why we can’t have the pricing power through theoretical study and analysis. Finally we put forward few policy suggestions to enhance our pricing power of our country.
