| In the last five years, as new regulatory policies are introduced, the trustcompany of China present the standardized development trend. The scale of trustindustry has grown rapidly and has become an important financial component of thefinancial system of our country. While, because of trust companies’ external change ofenvironment, trust companies are going through an adjustment period. Simultaneously,trust industry of China has some problems such as slowing growth and cash crisis.Trust companies will go through development transformation. The effect of businessstructure on performance has become one of the focuses of academic circles. How tochoose business structure is the core issue of trust industry development in suchenvironment.The main research object of this paper is to study business structure of trustcompanies. The main line is to study how to solve practical problems of trust industry.In main chapters, this paper used scope economies, structure theory and diversitytheory for the theoretical foundation. Combining theory with practice, this paperstudied and summarized the effect of business structure on trust companies’performance. Then this paper described characteristics of trust companies and analyzethe causes. In order to study the specific influence of business structure onperformance of trust companies. Using the concentration rate and the HHI index tomeasure the business structure. The model use real data from annual financial reportsand analyzed different business structure with the company’s performance from fouraspects including main business, source of fund, asset allocation and mode ofoperation. The results show that the business structure is highly concentrated and thedifferentiation of trust products is small and optimization of business structurecontributes to enhance companies’ performance. Finally, this paper analyzed newchallenges to trust companies, made suggestion on the transformation of trust industryand supervision. |
