Study On The Transformation And Upgrading Of Processing Trade In China

There have been more than three decades since from the reform and opening-upto now, during this period, processing trade in China developed steadily, which playsa leading role in promoting Chinese economic development. China has the world’slargest population, relatively few chances for good jobs, and our intellectual level islow. The appearance of processing trade alleviates the employment problem, whichinvolves the majority of cheap labor, meanwhile, in the aspect of foreign trade, eachprocessing trade enterprise in each country also increases trade links with the outsideworld. Our foreign trade value was beyond America in2012, and then China hasbecome the world’s largest trading nation, and its authenticity was confirmed in thefollowing year. At present international situation, in the process of transformation andupgrading of processing trade, our country still confront enormous challenges. Withthe change and development of the international situation, in the development processof China’s processing trade, there are some issues, such as poor technologicalspillovers, domestic enterprises lack of innovation and technology, low efficiencylevels. China has to accelerate its pace of development on the transformation andupgrading of processing trade. The research methods of this paper include: combiningtheory and practice, qualitative and quantitative analysis, micro and macro analysis.Based on the above research methods, the subject of this paper are the theory ofprocessing trade and its transformation and upgrading; the necessity of transformationand upgrading through the current situation analysis; and finally, combining thecurrent situation of China’s processing trade and domestic processing trade indeveloped countries and regions，some valuable suggestions are offered for the futuredevelopment of processing trade in China. The possible innovation of this papermainly reflects in two aspects: by studying the processing trade and its related fields,the problems are brought forward; and different aspects of the causes of problems inChina’s processing trade are also analyzed.
