Empirical Research On Technology Spillover Effect Of FDI In Zhejiang

Attracting foreign direct investment is one of the major experiences of the economic miracle in Zhejiang Province. Foreign economy in Zhejiang has contributed effectively not only in the growth of GDP, but also in the technological progress, in the upgrading of industries, and in the R&D ability. Therefore, it has a great theoretical and practical significance to have a study on the effect of FDI technology spillover in Zhejiang Province. This dissertation, based on the panel data of11districts and primary, secondary and tertiary industries from2002to2013together with condition and environment of Zhejiang Province, respectively analyzes the effect of FDI on the total factor productivity in the view of the source of FDI and of FDI in different districts and industries. This paper not only analyzes the short-term effect, but also considers the long-term effects of FDI technology spillover. This dissertation draws the conclusions that the short-term effect and long-term effect of FDI technology spillover of Zhejiang are positive, and that the effects of FDI technology spillover vary with the source of FDI and with FDI in different districts and industries. In the end, based on the above research, this paper proposes a series of reasonable and practical suggestions.
