From the20th century, economic globalization in the breadth and depthhas been continuously made new breakthroughs, countries follow the trendand actively participate in international competition and cooperation ofinvestment, finance and other aspects. Financial globalization as one of themain content of economic globalization, more and more cross-borderoperations by financial institutions continue to enrich the connotation offinancial globalization. While commercial banks,as the most important partand basic position of financial institutions,participate in internationalcompetition forays improving the international financial layout. From thebeginning of the1980s, the developed countries in order to spread the risks,joined competition for global dominance of financial resources and thefinancial industry, began to have financial deregulation, to encouragecommercial banks to cross-border mergers and acquisitions. In the1990s, inresponse to increasingly fierce competition, to achieve scale efficiency,developed vigorously implement financial reform, promote financialliberalization and further accelerate the development of the global bankingmergers and acquisitions, and developed throughout the20th century ledmultinational commercial banks M&A wave.As globalization continues progressing, foreign banks gradually enterChinese market leading fierce competition.Chinese commercial bankscontinued departure from its own development strategy, start a series ofcross-border mergers and acquisitions. This paper analysis representativemerger cases of Chinese commercial banks, for examples,comparingstate-owned banks and joint-stock bank merger, analyze the impact of body onM&A; choose the merged party in developed countries and developing countries,comparing and analysis different impact of the merged objects;choose Cases that hold different acquisition strategies, compare theacquisition of the different banks in different road. State-owned banks likeIndustrial and Commercial Bank of China and China Construction Bank havefinished several large-scale cross-border mergers and acquisitions cases.Joint-stock banks hold different strategies, China Merchants Bank mergerWing Lung Bank, and achieve success, and Min Sheng Bank directly enter theUnited States but took a plunge. Using analysis and data envelopmentanalysis method for evaluation of performance after the acquisition, moreintuitive clearly reflect the performance of M&A.This paper reviews the domestic and cross-border theory, summarized andcross-border M&A History and experience, explore strategies to enhance theperformance of M from the dimension theory and history; Secondly, since2006the state-owned commercial banks and joint-stock commercial banks atdifferent times and conditions, start cross-border mergers and acquisitions,draw out both macro reference value but also has microscopic drawmeaningful conclusions, not only reflects the successful experience ofcross-border mergers and acquisitions have been obtained also pointed outthat the long-standing need to be resolved the problem; finally, the previoustext analysis based on the recommendations put forward to enhance theperformance of acquisitions from developing strategy, selecting acquisitiontargets, and other aspects of post-merger integration as a reference.
