| Shipbuilding industry of Jiangsu province is a technology-intensive, capital-intensive and labor-intensive final assembly industry. Entering the new century, with its competitive advantage, Jiangsu province is leading to the national shipbuilding industry, Jiangsu has become the first shipbuilding province. Due to shipbuilding industry has the features of long industrial chain, big financing capacity, wide ramifications, so it has be determined that if the shipbuilding industry has changed, it would be a greater impact on the national economy. In the existing literature, the study of development trend and reaction mechanism of shipbuilding industry of our province is mainly the qualitative research. Therefore, quantitative research of the ripple effect and associated conditions of Jiangsu’s shipbuilding industry, analyzing the interaction of its internal adjustment has an important theoretical and practical significance for the upgrade of the shipbuilding industry and the deepening of the economic structure.Based on analysis of the development and characteristics of the shipbuilding industry in Jiangsu province, this paper analyzed the effect on related industries and regional economies. In the analysis of the ripple effect for the related industries of Jiangsu’s Shipbuilding, the theory of input-output analysis is used, it used the input-output table of Jiangsu Province of 2007. From the analysis of shipbuilding industry’s investment and using structure, by calculating the direct consumption coefficient, complete consumption coefficient, sensitivity and influence coefficient related indicators, it focused on the correlation effects and the ripple effect of Jiangsu shipbuilding industry. And the paper concluded that Jiangsu’s shipbuilding industry and other sectors of the national economy has extensively close contact, and it also has an important far-reaching impact for the related industries.In the analysis of the ripple effect on the regional economy of shipbuilding industry in Jiangsu Province, this paper integrated Jiangsu’s regional concentration of shipbuilding industry, the impact of the development process in general and the shipbuilding industry in Jiangsu Province and the impact on the regional industrial chain. It analyzed the question with the empirical to verify the shipbuilding industry in Jiangsu province plays a positive role on the regional economy. It also explained the impact of their own development and changes to the economic departments of the shipbuilding industry in recent years.
