The development of the society requires enterprises to shoulder more social responsibilities, and philanthropic giving as an important content of corporate social responsibility, are increasingly attracted extensive attention of the academic and business. Domestic and foreign scholars from different angles to discuss and study on the motivation influence, factors and economic consequences of corporate philanthropic giving. However, the existing research has neglected the heterogeneity of corporate managers that is an important influence on corporate philanthropic giving. Gender is an important individual characteristic of corporate executives, which has an important influence on corporate philanthropic giving. With the development of society, more and more women have joined the management team, and become an important force in the corporate management decision. Therefore, this article has conducted the study to research the relationship between female executives and corporate philanthropic giving.In this paper, from a perspective of the upper echelons theory and women care ethics theory, analysis the effects of female executives on corporate philanthropic giving. We selected the data of China’s Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchange listed enterprises from 2007 to 2013, the result of the study showed that compared with the male executives, female executives is helpful to enhance the level of corporate philanthropic giving; and in the non-state-owned enterprises and the low degree of market areas, the effect that female executives promote the level of enterprise philanthropic giving is more obvious. Further analysis showed that, the more corporate philanthropic giving, the more government subsidy, corporate philanthropic giving has significant correlation between government and enterprises; and compared with state-owned enterprises, the positive correlation of corporate philanthropic giving and government subsidy is more obvious in non-state enterprises; compared with enterprises that have female executives, the positive correlation of corporate philanthropic giving and government subsidy is more obvious in enterprises without female executives.The conclusion of this article enriches the related study of philanthropic giving, but also provides further empirical evidence for role of female executives in corporate governance and decision-making. By the conclusion of this article, we support enterprises to achieve gender diversity of team members as possible in the executive team building process, not only for the female management to provide the necessary social stage, expand the space integration of enterprise human capital, but also can give full play to the female executives in promoting the enterprise to shoulder the social responsibility, develop the social image of enterprises.
