The explosive development of network and digital technology has brought significant changes in the pattern of media ecology. Any communicators are able to skip the intermediate links,to transmit information directly to the recipients. The traditional strengths of the print media, for example original contents and distribution channels, have gone or even become negative equity concerns of transforming and upgrading. Now it’s time to change.In the past decade, the print media has been losing its dominant status, and it’s impossible to regain it through endogenous development. The print media has eventually realized the necessity to really merge with new media as fast as possible. This article has collected status of 14 listed companies in print media field from 2014 on, and then has discussed the function of capital operation in this merging process.First of all, this article gives a definition of print media and a brief history of its transformation; After a glance of these 14 sample companies, comes the major elaboration of this article: what active role acquisition and investment funds play in the transformation of the print media.
