With the rapidly development of global economic integration, deepening financial disintermediation and interest rate liberalization, the competition between banks is increasing. Facing an unprecedentedly unknown regulatory policy, market and the changing needs of customers, the banking industry is undergoing a profound industry change, including external service diversification and internal operations intensification. In recent years, facing the new environment which changes rapidly, most commercial banks have taken active measures, such as enriching business types, increasing product range, improving the quality of services, to get more advantages in the fierce competition in the market, and occupy a larger market. The difference between products and services originates in business processes. With China’s accession to the world trade organization, the gradual opening of financial markets, the continuous influx of foreign financial institutions, China’s banking industry competition gradually showing international trend, most banks began planning the globalization of business development, the core position of international business have become increasingly prominent. How to effectively integrate the existing international business resources, optimize business processes, customer-focused, market-oriented, to achieve new and efficient operations management to effectively respond to global competition in the banking sector, China’s commercial banks is an urgent problem. At present, the research on business process reengineering of commercial banks is rare, and most focus on theoretical level, which is difficult to provide valuable guidance for commercial banks in business process reengineering.Based on the above reasons, this paper based on business process reengineering theory, through the international remittance business process investigation of Bank of China, understand the status of business process, identify existing problems, through the empirical analysis of the results, study of business process reengineering strategies, hope to provides a valuable reference proposal for China’s commercial banks BPR practice. This thesis is divided into five parts, in which:Part Ⅰ:Introduction, proposed the research background, purpose and significance, the status at home and abroad, research methods and ideas.Part Ⅱ:Theoretical overview, introduced the concept of business process reengineering, an overview of the theory and business process reengineering trends.Part Ⅲ:Case Studies, Bank of China on the status of international remittance business analysis to identify the current flow problems and risk points, draw relevant conclusions.PART Ⅳ:Proposed a solution, based on situation analysis results, the international money transfer business reengineering measures and the related evaluation and analysis.Part Ⅴ:Conclusion, summarize the results of this study to find out the lack of research, pointing out the need for further research work carried out in the future.
