Since China changed itself from agricultural country to industrial country, it had an enormous economic development. But the ecological environment had been damaged at the same time. And how to maintain economic growth and ecological environment is more and more important when the economic restructuring and promoting. Fujian Province pays more and more attention to the environmental problem under this trend.The GDP of Fujian Province is about 341 billion in 1999 and increased to 2,406 billion in 2014,it increased about 7.05 times.But the ecological environment has been a certain damage with the huge development.For example, industrial solid wastes rose from 16 million tons in 1999 to 48 million tons in 2014, it increased about 3.05 times; industrial wastewater emissioned by 10.2 tons in 1999 to 26.1 tons in 2014,it increased about 2.56 times;and sulfur dioxide pollution also increased from 190 thousand tons in 1999 to 356 thousand tons in 2014, it increased about 1.87 times. The quality of our life is gradually declining due to the deterioration of environment.Therefore,how to handle the relationship between economic growth and ecological environment properly is an important issue for us.The environment Kuznets Curve is a classical hypothesis to analyze the relationship between environmental pollution and economic development.The typical EKC is " inverted U ". Based on this hypothesis, this study explores the relationship between economic growth and ecological environment in Fujian Province on the basis of previous literatures. Mainly engaged in the following aspects of research:First,the paper expounds the related concepts and theoretical basis involved the sustainable development theory、environmental economics value theory and externality theory. It discusses the role what they play in researching the relationship between economic development and ecological environment.Second, it analyze the current status of Fujian Province,including the economicand the ecological environment.For example, the GDP and per GDP,industrial development from 1999 to 2014;the seven serious pollution and the overall ecological environment change of Fujian Province.Third, the paper use the related data of Fujian Province from 1999 to 2014 to do the empirical analysis.Using Eviews and SPSS, the single environmental indicators and per GDP were fitted firstly,the the comprehensive index of environmental pollution of Fujain Province was fitted.The results of this research show that,in the data range, the wastewater emissions and the industrial solid waste shows the typical inverted U-shaped curve, but the other four kinds of environmental pollution show the positive correlation with the per GDP. And the comprehensive index which is constructed by the component analysis method, shows the classical inverse U curve.Forth, considering the related theory and the empirical results,this paper comes out some conclusions as follow:1.Fujian Province government should take more measures to decline the emissions of other pollution.2. As the relationship between the comprehensive index of environmental pollution and per GDP presents a typical inverted U-shaped curve,the Fujian Province has the ability to maintain economic development and environmental protection.In the end, some suggestions are put forward:1.Optimize the industrial structure.2. Take the ecological transformation of the industrial structure;3.Strengthen the technological innovation;4. Use the fiscal and financial means to increase the inputs of pollution reduction;5. Improve the the legal system of pollution reduction.
