Agricultural listed companies are advanced representative of the agricultural enterprises, as a representative of advanced productivity of agricultural listed companies, how to build system of modern agriculture, promote agricultural industrial structure upgrade and improve our country agriculture as basic industry’s international competitiveness, play an exemplary role. The agricultural listed companies to become bigger and stronger, mergers and acquisitions is an effective way. Mergers and acquisitions is a senior corporate behavior and complex economic activity, though to the enterprise resource reconfiguration, to seek the improvement of operating performance. In recent years, the agriculture listed company merger and acquisition activity is developing rapidly. In order to study the status quo of mergers and acquisitions of agricultural listed companies, to study whether mergers and acquisitions impact business performance, based on agricultural listed companies as the research object, this paper analyses the types of mergers and acquisitions and mergers and acquisitions performance relationship, and puts forward corresponding counter measures on the results of the study.In this paper, combining with the existing literature at home and abroad, carding mergers and acquisitions impact on performance, clarify the mechanism of the effect in different types of mergers and acquisitions and mergers and acquisitions performance. Mergers and acquisitions types are divided into related to mergers and acquisitions and diversified mergers and acquisitions, put forward relevant assumptions between different types of mergers and acquisitions and mergers and acquisitions performance, and then combined with our country securities market agricultural listed companies between 2001 and 2012 on mergers and acquisitions events as the research sample, build multivariate regression model, through analysis can come to the following conclusions: Agric ultural listed companies after mergers and acquisitions, enterprise mergers and acquisitions performance associated with a significant type of mergers and acquisitions, no matter agricultural listed companies choose related to mergers and acquisitions or choose diversification of mergers and acquisitions, mergers and acquisitions after the enterprise performance is much better than that of mergers and acquisitions in the year before. For related to mergers and acquisitions, mergers and acquisitions that year or two years after mergers and acquisitions, overall performance is rising. Look at diversification mergers and acquisitions, also make the company overall diversification mergers and acquisitions performance improve, but look from whole, the performance of the merger and acquisition of related enterprise performance is far from good. Significant difference related to mergers and acquisitions and diversified mergers and acquisitions.In this paper, on the basis of detailed research on mergers and acquis itions theory, using the standard study, empirical study on two kinds of methods, analyzes the agricultural listed companies involved in the process of mergers and acquisitions related problems, aiming at our country agriculture listed company merger and acquisition activity provide a theoretical support and practical guidance, which provide a reference for the company’s operating decision- making and development direction.
