| In the context of sustainability, the demand for urban agriculture in America and Europe has changed from providing food to forming user experience, the purpose of urban agriculture guided by design is also changed from production to sustainable lifestyle. The environmental, economic and social benefits of the trend are raising sustainable consciousness of citizen, improving community integration and so on. Because of the late start of development and the lack of similar service design guidance like the European and American models, urban agriculture in China may not keep up with the world trend.Recent years, the process of urbanization and economic development is accelerating in China and the phenomenon of urban agriculture in commercial space is also emerged in China not too long after the phenomenon emerged in Europe, America, Japan and other developed countries, such as K11 urban farm, V-Roof gardens, Urban farm of Pasona in Japan and Melbourne coffee farm in Austrilia and so on. Because of its advantages as the wide influence, experience centered, easy to acess and high added value, this kind of urban agriculture provides opportunity for us to develop urban agriculture for sustainable life style and follow the global trend. However, without service design methods, cases of urban agriculture in commercial space in China may not play its proper role in environmental, economic, social aspects. The practical platform of this research supported by ‘ Urban Farm of Wanke Meihao Plaza in Suzhou ’ project which i participant in is also a service design of urban agriculture in commercial space.Using of literature review, case studies, field research, user research and research methods of service design to explore the characteristics, potential opportunities, problems and the potential user demand of urban agriculture in commercial space. By introducing gamification and service design methods to improve user engagement, collaboration and experience of these services. According to the service design purpose, service design elements for forming sustainable lifestyle and the gamification tools from case study on gamified service, the author proposed gamified service design SCE model and relevant strategies for urban agriculture in commercial space, and then test and refine SCE model and relevant strategies through the ‘ Urban Farm of Wanke Meihao Plaza in Suzhou ’ project.Above all, the author introduce gamification to optimize service engagement, collaboration and experience of urban agriculture in commercial space based on service design methods. This research may enrich the methods of service design, expand applications of service design and gamification, provide new way for the development of urban agriculture in China to catch up with the world trend, provide reference for theoretical research and design practice in similar situations. |
