With the manufacturing industry move into Industry 4.0, equipment tend to be mobile-connected, unmanned and intelligent, the requirements for the management of equipment are also expected to be improved. Spare parts management, as an important part of the equipment management, has become a very critical part of enterprise production operation. S company spare parts inventory is occupy about 5% of the total liquidity, which has exceeded the total inventory of raw materials. From the view of turnover situation of spare parts inventory, 54% of the spare parts are sleeping in the stock for more than 5 years, so reduce the inventory of spare parts and improve the turnover rate of inventory become the first priority for S company in terms of equipment management.In this paper, I focus on the situation of spare parts inventory and low usage rate of S company, then put forward two solutions, one is equipment management optimization plan based on equipment tree and stock management optimization plan according to spare parts classification. The first solution is from the view of spare parts-demand, classify spare parts based on equipment structure, and then set up the maintenance strategy and optimize the equipment maintenance mode according to spare parts failure severity and failure feature. The second solution is based on the view of spare parts inventory management. First step is to classify the priority of spare parts by ABC and VED method. Then, make forecasting of spare parts demanding based on the theory of exponential smoothing method and the normal distribution method. Finally, through differential inventory control mathematical models and inventory optimization to further reduce the size of spare parts inventory. I hope this research can provide some reference value to S company in order to reduce the spare parts inventory.The first chapter of this paper is the introduction. The second chapter introduces the management of equipment and spare parts. The third chapter discusses the status quo and existing problems of S company spare parts management. The fourth chapter discusses the management of S company’s equipment management. The fifth chapter describes the management of spare parts management in S company. The sixth chapter is conclusion and prospect.
