In this research,the content of flavonoids in different organs of Osmundaceae was investigated,the antioxidant properties of flavonoids and antibacterial activity of its alcohol extract were studied.The flavonoids were extarcted from osmundaceaes which were collected in different growth stages,the content of which was determined by sodium nitrite-aluminum nitrate colorimetric assay.The results show that: in the same growing season,the highest content of flavonoidis was found in the stems root,followed by the blade portion;at the same site,the content of flavonoids was changed with the variation of the growing season.The crude powder of flavonoid was extracted from Osmundaceae by 75% ethanol,the content of which is 10.52%,followed by AB-8 macroporous resin purification,purified powder of flavonoid with content of 27.03% was obtained.The study on the antioxidant of crude powder and purified powder of flavonoid was conducted by lard system and linoleic acid system,respectively.The results show that,the antioxidant of flavonoid was improved with the purity increased.The antioxidant activity of Osmundaceae flavonoids was behaved in scavenging free radicals,which can significantly block the autoxidation of linoleic acid and lard.The antibacterial research of Osmundaceae flavonoid was conducted by Oxford Cup Antimicrobial Experiment Method.Four kinds of spoilage bacteria and pathogens,Bacillus subtilis,Staphylococcus aureus,Aspergillus flavus and Penicillium,were used in this experiment,The results showed that Osmundaceae flavonol exhibited antibacterial activity on these four bacteria.
