Research on virtual plant is one interdisciplinary for individual plants or populations. It put botany, biology, applied mathematics, information science and computer graphics, visualization technologies into one. And it is one of the widely research hotspots currently.Construction of virtual plant model is the foundation and key of virtual plant research. The process of plant growth and development is complex, and the effectiveness of the appearance model is particularly important. Therefore, during the study of the model of virtual plant morphogenesis, it can overcome the limitations of model to meet the mechanis of plant's growth and the demand for more plant modeling is the most important research content in this article.In the process of research on virtual plant model, in order to get static description model of plant phenotype based on biological experiment data need to count, analysis a large number of experimental data. Meanwhile, the process of modeling and realization of computer visualization is difficult. Consequently, this article based on the architectural model, in line with the plant growth process, proposed a kind of explanatory model of a virtual plant modeling based on fusion method of L-system and automata model to express more plant morphology occur details. It can greatly improve the effectiveness and applicability of the virtual plant model was constructed as the building of a dynamic modeling method of plant phenotypes.Specifically, the research work of this paper mainly includes the following four aspects:1. On the basis of a review on the research of virtual plant model proposed static descriptive model based on the building principles of the construction of virtual plant morphogenesis and made a futher sudy on architectural model.The effectiveness and practicability of the model is the primary problem must be considered in the process of virtual plant modeling. At present, research on virtual plant morphogenesis model is multifaceted and targeted. The construction of static descriptive model is based on the statistical analysis of experimental data to precisely defined plant morphogenesis process dynamic characteristics. Descriptive models have a variety of forms and functions, of which architectural model is the most representative. As a kind of inherent growth rules of plants,it provides the way of plant morphogenesis and the final structure of plant growth, expresses the existing plant species structure and plant morphogenesis process behavior sequence. Therefore, it accords with the basic rules of plant complete structure.2. Through the analysis of the process of plant morphogenesis, the descriptive model of virtual plant is built based on L-system, and it is beneficial to the realization and simulation of computer visualization.Although architectural model can vividly and accurately give the classification methods to plant morphogenesis, but it is lack of effective means and methods for visual expression of plant morphology. This paper based on plant morphology pattern defined by plant architectural model,respectively from two aspects of micro and macro applicated L-system proposes a descriptive model of plant phenotype. L-system provide a programming language for the representation of plant topology and the description of plant models and it provides a simple and convenient method for the further construction of dynamic model and the realization of 3D visualization.3. According to the growth mechanism of plant itself, based on the descriptive model of virtual plants, we further study the key mechanisms related to the dynamic explanatory model of plant growth based on the automata model.(1) The object of this paper is to build dynamic model for plant phenotype, however plant phenotype is closely related to the related content of biological characteristics, thus the key to successfully establishing dynamic model of plant phenotype is must regard mechanism of plant charactersbe as the starting point and foundation of creating the modeling.(2) Based on the principles of dual scale automaton, we simulated dynamic growth process of plant from the macro and micro two different scales. On micro level, we introduced "s" type Boltzmann function differential form and the elastic rod model to L-system to simulate upper and the upper organs' chang with time. On macro level, the whole plant topology follow the plant growing rules continue to improve.4. According to the principle and method of virtual plant structure-function modeling,we put forward a kind of dynamic modeling method of virtual plant phenotype based on architectural principle.Based on the basic principle of dual scale automaton and plant structure-function modeling,we ues the growth unit, macro state chain growth and cell labeling method to to build the model from the macro and micro levels. Conforming to the natural law of plant growth, the method of modeling of multi level, hierarchical based on architectural modeling greatly improves the efficiency of virtual plant modeling, and broadens the application fields of virtual plant modeling.
