Neutron generator is a widely used neutron source,its main principle is through the D-D reaction 2.5 MeV neutron generated,or the D-T reaction of 14 MeV neutron,Compared with ordinary isotopic neutron source,including high yield,energy spectrum good monochromaticity,no gamma background,can produce pulsed neutron,need not when can be shut off,protective easy,storage management and transportation convenient.Compared with the reactor or accelerator neutron source,its small size,light weight,small power consumption,do not need to vacuum system and cooling equipment,don't need to replace the tritium target,operating capacity,simple maintenance and management,with the extended service life of,could eventually replace natural radioactive isotope source,and is suitable for popularization and application.Neutron tube is mainly by the ion source and ion accelerating system and target parts,such as the neutron neutron tube of the specific process is as follows: first of all by the ion source ion,these ions will be focusing ion accelerating system after derivation,then the focus or spread,drift after projected onto the target and then to produce neutrons.Focusing ion accelerating system to some extent determine the characteristics of the ion beam,and the neutron tube in quantum yield and the working stability and service life,and many other important parameters are also affected by the ion beam.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out the study on focusing ion accelerating system work.In view of the present neutron tube penning ion source is focused on the extensive research of the accelerating system,for different application requirements of neutron tube to the requirement of the beams,focusing ion accelerating system can also have the corresponding with the specific design,design for neutron tube of three electrodes on the general requirements of the design of the neutron tube are discussed,design provides reference opinions for neutron tube.Firstly,the basic mathematical theory from neutron beam tube simulation deduced axisymmetric focusing accelerated particle system is running in the electromagnetic field of the trajectory equation.It analyzed under in positive and negative ion source conditions different electrode shapes,different electric field strength and the magnetic flux density conditions,changes in the beam shape and the change of focus characteristics and the beam spot on the target,Analysis and the use of a simplified model of a three-electrode ion-optical tube neutron beam shape derivation,which provide a theoretical basis for the study of neutron tube system.Experiment in the application of CST electromagnetic field simulation software,and theoretical analysis,thus preliminary master small penning ion source neutron tube is focused on the transmission characteristics of the acceleration system,both the result of the simulation results and theoretical derivation.
