Based on ordinary digital camera photo total station system is a will close range photogrammetry and traditional point measurement combining together a new measuring method.With the constant improvement of the ordinary digital camera manufacturing technology,the resolution and stability also made considerable development,it is more and more widely used in close range photogrammetry.At the same time,after decades of development,the theory and practice of close range photogrammetry have gradually become a more perfect,professional photography measurement software has also been developed more and more,it can achieve the function also more and more abundant.It is benefit to the development of the software,the ordinary digital camera can the application before the measurements must be known the basic information and inner orientation elements and other parameters are obtained through the calibration.At present,close range photogrammetry has been in the deformation monitoring,building surveying and map measurement of actual measurement is more and more application.At the same time,total station is one of the main instruments for the measurement of,after decades of development and its accuracy reached a very high level.A detailed analysis of the advantages of electronic total station in the single point measurement and ordinary digital camera in Digital Close Range Photogrammetry in the measurement area from 3D range data fast access to advantage,also their shortcomings is just each other's advantages.In this way,we can imagine that they are connected to form a whole application,they can combine the advantages of each other,and make up for the lack of each other,the formation of a new measurement method.In fact,a few decades ago had the amount of total station(then still a theodolite)and measuring type camera link is used in the measurement of precedent,but due to its many deficiencies and not be large-scale application.And now,total station digital camera and the rapid development has solved the these problems.In this research,the total station system is produced,and the accuracy of the system is obtained through comparative analysis.Before measuring,the first use of planar target parameters of Zhang Zhengyou calibration method using professional software for photogrammetry PhotoModler scanner and special calibration target of the digital camera calibration,get the camera on the basic information and within the range elements parameters.At the same time,we also need to advance solutions to calculate the center of the camera and the total station instrument center between relatively fixed spatial position relation of six parameters,which is using Professor Zhang Zuxun proposed theoretical formula and produce their own calibration block at the same time,we calculated the initial state of the six parameters.After the above two steps,the total station system can be applied to the measurement of the work.The photo total station for ancient building surveying practice,the control points of close range photogrammetry,and through comparative analysis,this photo total station measurement precision made analysis and conclusion.Through the data obtained from the experiment results can prove that this photo total station system measurement accuracy can meet the accuracy of measurement of ancient building requirementsand achieve the control point of the photographic measurement,it also be able to quickly and efficiently access building point cloud modeland improving the efficiency of the measurement.According to the accuracy of the results of the research data,the total station system can be applied to earthwork measurement,digital mapping and slope measurement work,there is a great application prospects.
