In the information age, computer technology is developping rapidly, and it has more and more widely used in geoscience field, such as digital mapping, geological interface simulation,etc. while 3d geological modeling technology and data visualization technology are getting mature increasingly, and image processing ?CAD?computer graphics and other disciplines are deeply interpenetrated with one another and widely used, it is a hot spot of current research that how to obtain 3d geological data intelligently and implement geological interface simulation and visualization accurately and efficiently.In terms of geological boundary extraction, this paper make thorough research to the edge detection algorithm of image recognition algorithm : contrastive analysis are made of differential operator, LOG operator and Canny operator; same is done on the multidimensional gradient method, the output of the fusion and vector method based on color image edge detection.In view of the implementation efficiency and precision, this paper adopts the color image edge detection based on the theory of the Canny algorithm, to realize intelligent extraction of the geological boundary, the result shows that geological line extracted is clear and able to present characteristics.The extension of the image processing technology to the field of geology has guiding significance for quick access of data in the 3 d geological modeling data.In terms of 3 d visualization of geological interface,this paper make thorough research to surface model of three-dimensional geological modeling, contrastive analysis are made among geological interface simulation algorithms, which consists of GRID(GRID) model based on digital elevation model, irregular triangle(TIN)model and spline interpolation algorithm. IDW interpolation and the point by point insertion method of Delaunay triangulation are applicated to constuct the terrain surface models: on the basis of the extracted geological boundaries and contour extraction,the data of 1600 points on the 14 contour coordinates is obtained, which is matched with the corresponding contour elevation value,the two algorithms realize the visualization of terrain combing with the obtained data and contrastive analysis ismade of the two methods;Visualization simulation of geological interface is realized by bicubic B-spline surface interpolation:tha data of 160 points extracted from the extracted geological boundaries, combining with the orientation data of the geological point and contour elevation value, is applicated to construct surface model by the method. All the algorithms above have advantages in the simulation of surface topography and fitting surface, which implements simulation and visual representation of geological interface accurately and effectively.
