China is a country much mountainous, most of geophysical work carried out in the mountains, The influence of terrain in exploration is a serious and urgent problem. For gravity surveys, the impact of the terrain is much more serious than other geophysical methods, for example, the observation point elevation accuracy requirements are centimeters, relatively difficult to deal with, some of the geological body causing the observed abnormal numerically. If the correct item is wrong, it will directly affect the correct interpretation of other processing late; additional correction to the most important terrain corrections do not change the variable density. It is necessary to study in undulating terrain dimensional density inversion imaging method. Using the ideas of the equivalent source of undulating terrain under gravity inversion imaging technologies and research the results application of this method in practical exploration.We define the non-real-field source as the equivalent source, namely, using the equivalence field achieve the inversion imaging undulating terrain, the specific approach is: arranged as a series of hypothetical equivalent source the field source in the space-based observations below the surface, then use optimization methods to strike and observed density equivalent to these imaginary field sources, according to the distribution of density values to determine the spatial position of the field source, shape and size.This paper describes the theory and usually used calculation method of gravity inversion; principle of equivalent source inversion imaging and the way to calculate the equivalent source. And then design many groups of models,obtained by the model's theory gravity anomalies and quality equivalent source inversion imaging to obtain good inversion results to verify the feasibility of the method used in inversion.Finally, the method is applied to the actual data inversion imaging, analysis and comparison with other geophysical data, equivalent source inversion used in resource exploration is practicality.
