In recent years, the research of secure communication with technology of chaotic synchronization in the field of chaos control theory is becoming increasingly fierce. Chaotic synchronization is the foundation of chaotic secure communication. After more than twenty years of development, lots of concepts and methods have been set up. Chaotic communication has been widely applied and has broad prospects.A new method of projective synchronization based on the stability criterion of linear systems is introduced and a technical scheme of chaotic masking for secure communication is proposed in this paper. A nonlinear drive vector function of special chaotic state variable is constructed with the scaling factor for chaotic synchronization by separating the linear and nonlinear terms properly. The transmission information is injected into one element of the state vector as carrier signal. Lorenz system, Rossler system, hyper-chaotic Rossler system and Chua's circuit system are used as examples to simulate application of sinusoidal message.A new communication technique for transmitting M-ary digital signals using SC projective synchronization based on stability criterion is also proposed in this paper. At the sender, M-ary digital signals are modulated into Jacobian matrix and the scaling factor of chaotic system. The digital signals will be decoded in the corresponding subsystem constructed at the receiver end. Lorenz system and Rossler system are used to simulate the process of transmitting decimal digital signals. The SC projective synchronization method is proved to be effective and safe for secure communication by the simulation results.
