The Xinhe vanadium deposits are formed in the bottom of black shale series of rocks who belong to Cambrian Niutitang Formation. By studying of the output features of those rocky and mineral compositions,textures and structures,the geochemistry characteristics of major elements and trace elements and REE, we begain to discuss the material sources and mineralization environments of vanadium deposits and analysis the genesis of Xinhe vanadium deposits.Through a lot of study of Xinhe vanadium deposits, now wen can get some conclusions as follows:(1) The Xinhe vanadium deposits are mainly distributed in simple layers or stratoid,its thickness vares from location to location(about 0.70m~16.11m),the mean value of its thickness is about 6.93 m.(2) Rocks(ores) are composed of organics,chalcedony or calcite,and little quartz, muscovite, pyrite. Its predominant structures include such as sand shale, silty shale, shale and so on.The ore types mainly develop microscopic flakes and massive or veined texture.(3) The metallogenic materials are mainly originated from the terrigene sediments,while some hydrothermal solutions that come from the earth`s deep interior are joined too.(4) The deposits formed in reducing environment which is transition region from continental margin to deep sea.(5) Generally,the formation process of Xinhe vanadium deposits is described as follows: detrital materials of terrestrials that contains feldspar, quartz,anthrophyllite and clay mineral are deposed in the sea bottom in the early Cambrian.Hydrothermal solutions who contains minerals of Vanadium and strontium went alone the discordogenic fault and bring its liquid into the depositional basin by lateral diffusion when the sediments was relatively loose.In this process, part of the Vanadium as isomorphism form(V3+) instead of Fe3+and Al3+into illite(hydromica) and clay mineral lattice. The V4+and V5+was adsorbed by illite(hydromica) and clay minerals. At the same time, with submarine exhalative process, the water environment changed, a large number of organisms are dead, organical degradation in seawater oxygen consumption leads to the hypoxiaenvironment. As a result, the organics are preserved, biomass carbonization or the cavity is SiO2 colloid filling, and finally illite(hydromica) and clay minerals, carbon(or organic rich)organisms and the formation of SiO2 colloid flocculation dignified after crystallization.The preliminary analysis indicates that the Xinhe vanadium deposit is a memember of the hydrothermal(or hot spring) sedimentary deposits type.
