In order to improve the usability of underwater ADCP(Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers), this paper investigated the display of real-time velocity data on PC(personal computer) interface and the wireless transport scheme of real-time velocity data between ADCP and PC. The paper proposes an accurate calculation method for full section, and a more usable interactive design scheme is also based on interactive design theory.1.By analyzing design content of ADCP controlling and displaying interfaces, and comparing the mainstream ones in the market, the paper concludes properties of designing ADCP controlling and displaying software:high requirement for real-time controlling and displaying, heavy workload, high complexity of displayed content and so on. These works make the paper more targeted.2.By investigating the GRPS(General Packet Radio Service) wireless communication technology and the features of ADCP in practical application, the resolution scheme of wireless communication is proposed for underwater ADCP,as well as the display interface. The groundbreaking scheme solve the weakness that PC must be on the ship when measuring velocity and confirming malfunction. By using this scheme, users can control underwater ADCP, observe velocity data and detect malfunction in any place that has network, which widen the system's application area.3. Aiming at the defects of that the traditional ADCP requires multiple measuring points in flow measurement, we propose an full section calculating method based on uniform flow's velocity distribution in open channel. In this method, velocity data of the whole section can be accurately calculated with only four data items in particular positions. Results are verified by some experimental data.4. We research users' behaviors. Referring to interactive design disciples including simplicity, definitude and coordination, we develop a simple, usable and reliable user graphic interface of the controlling and displaying system based on Qt design (interface development platform of this system). With this interface, users can directly observe measured data and control underwater ADCP without learning and reading instruction book when using this system.
