Global Positioning System(GPS) could provide high-precision position and velocity, which has been widely used in all aspects of our daily life. With the increasing demand for GPS, it faces more and more complex environment. In fact, GPS is not only face harsh environments, such as the satellite signal is blocked or invalid etc, but also be easily influenced by intentional or unintentional interference. Therefore, this article will focus on researching the vector tracking loop, which could ensure the continued stability and improve the robustness of GPS receiver in harsh environment. The main contents include the following aspects:First, the thesis introduces the basic structure of GPS satellite signals, and researches the principle of the traditional GPS receiver(scalar tracking receiver) from acquisition, tracking and positioning.Second, the thesis establishes the tracking loop model of vector tracking receiver, and gives the setting methods of the filter parameter. The simulations compare the positioning performance of the scalar tracking receiver and vector tracking receiver, the experiments show that the vector tracking receiver could get high-precision position and velocity even in harsh environment which the scalar tracking loop will lose lock.Third, the thesis analyzes the anti-jamming performance of scalar tracking receiver and vector tracking receiver from mathematics, and the analysis shows that the anti-jamming performance of vector tracking could improve with the number of visible satellite increased.Fourth, the thesis combines the feature of vector tracking receiver with an interference suppression algorithm to ensure the accuracy of receiver, when the interference could not be completely suppressed or the useful satellite signal is blocked. Even in these harsh environments, the vector tracking receiver could also give continuous positioning results. The simulation proves the validity of the algorithm.
