Engineering structure is more and more complex, and the influence of its material properties, processing and manufacturing uncertainty on the dynamic characteristics is more and more significant. It has been gradually taken seriously using the uncertainty model to analyze the structure. Besides, how to do the uncertainty analysis efficiently and accurately becomes the key point of research due to the complex structures' large model size. Improved component mode synthesis method is presented in this paper for analyzing the influence of uncertainty parameter on the comprehensive structure mode. The content is listed below:1) The paper discussed the component mode synthesis method, and introduced several analysis model for uncertainty problem.2) The paper proposed an improved free interface component mode synthesis method, and gave a detailed theory derivation. It gave the residual flexibility matrix effectively in presence of the substructure rigid-body modal by giving a new method for higher order hypothesis modal set. The example analysis showed that the method is of high calculation accuracy as well as high computational efficiency.3) The paper discussed the component mode synthesis method considering the interval parameters. First the substructure's uncertainty was introduced by the perturbation method, then the comprehensive equation was obtained through component modal synthesis technique. The uncertain parameter's influence on the system's character was discussed by example, and its effectiveness was verified by Monte Carlo method.4) The paper studied the component mode synthesis method whose interface was of elastic connection. The connection uncertain parameter's influence on the system's character was discussed by example, and also its effectiveness was verified by Monte Carlo method.
