We demonstrate that a homogeneous ferrite rod and the photonic crystal consisting of it can be cloaked by an external static magnetic field. This effect can be attributed to the particular response way of the rod to the incident wave, which means weak effective dipole is induced when a strong field strikes it and strong effective dipole is induced when a weak field strikes it. The photonic crystal can not only be cloaked, but also can be totally reflected even control the wave at our wish. That means this structure can play various different roles in the same communication system which makes it possess rich applications. |
