As a new measurement method,3D laser scanning technology which breaks the limitation of sample points and small coverage of traditional method has realized from the point to the change of surface measurement. With the advantage of fast date acquisition, high precision,non-contact measurement,3D laser scanning technology has been recognized by many industries.Due to the limitation of scanning speed and range, this technology only has a few application in geological disasters and is a hot topic in research.Through the scanning measurement of the zhenziyan rock which is in Jinfo mountain at the Nanchuan area of Chongqing by using a terrestrial 3D laser scanner, this article summarize the work method and process of fast investigation and measurement of geological disasters by using terrestrial 3D laser scanning technology, including the basis of the measurement, terrain construction,DEM modeling and volume projections, etc.Based on the fast investigation, through the deformation monitoring work at the West open pit Nanbang landslide which is at the Fushun City of Liaoning Province and the JiGuanLing unstable rock which is at the WuLong area of Chongqing by using terrestrial 3D laser scanning technology, the methods of deformation monitoring are summarized through the analysis of the surface, the analysis of the feature points and the analysis of the structural profile line.Meanwhile, through the use of airborne laser technology for geological disasters early recognition at Yangjiao Town of Wulong area, the results of the scale 1:1000digital elevation model(DEM),scale for 1:1000 contour map,the resolution of 0.6of DOM and the 3D visual model within 20 square kilometres at Yangjiao Town have been finished.Based on the observation and measurement of the 3D visual model, combining with the DOM,the investigation and early identification of the geological disasters in the complex mountainous areas, especially the areas which are difficult to get involved in have been carried out.The practical application of the case show that the 3D laser scanning technology has its own unique technology, operation flow and the expression of the results. Its fast date acquisition, high precision,non-contact measurement, and many otheradvantages are the useful supplement to the traditional investigation methods.Combining the 3D laser scanning technology with the traditional investigation methods,it will be beneficial to the research and practice of the geological disasters investigation, deformation monitoring and early identification.
