Correlated imaging, also known as ghost imaging, source to the non-local feature of the entangled photon pairs. Today, thermal light has replaced the entangled light source, become the main light source in correlated imaging experiment. The basic frame of correlated imaging is that, detecting the light intensity of the signal path, scanning the reference light path at the same time. Then get the reconstructed image of the target with the correlated algorithm. Theoretically speaking, correlated imaging is different from conventional imaging. Correlated imaging ways is more familiar with the thoughts in communication engineering, it uses the modulation and demodulation thought, modulating the target, then demodulate with the algorithm after the data processing. Under this mechanism, correlated imaging has some particular advantages, such as anti-noise imaging, low demand of light source imaging, night imaging, harsh conditions imaging and so on, which develops rapidly in past ten years.Due to the rapid development of optical devices, the experimental method of correlated imaging also has a breakthrough. From the initial use of entangled light, which is hard to get (by laser passing through BBO crystal and spontaneous parametric down-conversion), doing correlated imaging experiments. Then using Pseudo thermal light in experiment, which is prepared by laser passing through routing ground glass. Due to the help of spatial light modulator and digital micro-mirror device, the reference light path is no longer necessary. Now, ordinary light, even the sunlight can also be used in experiments. In this study, from theory, simulations and experiments, we analyzed and proposed new mechanism and new methods of correlated imaging, including:(1) The origin, background, basic methods, research status and introductions of correlated imaging;(2) Research on calculated correlated imaging and performed an experiment named "back-side correlated imaging" with ordinary light source even though the view is blocked;(3) The theoretical analysis and experiment of far field 3-D correlated imaging with photon detection technology;(4) The theoretical analysis and simulation of 3-D correlated imaging with optical holographic theory.
